My Tragic Death
"
So the time has come, Red. As you know it is the 5th. What does that mean, you ask? Well, I'm a member of a group who follow a tradition around these parts. You see, we at the S3K hunt for "victims" around this time and they are "killed" in a fictitious story that we create. So sit back, relax, and enjoy; for the Scythe swipes for thee:
Jay rang the doorbell.
In his left and right jacket pockets were the essentials: a bottle of champagne and his trusty .38 snub-nosed pistol, respectively. He also had a dozen white daisies in his right hand. He rang the doorbell again, knowing it would get a response from her.
"Hang on a second!" DeadRavens yelled. Jay smiled because he knows she's most likely putting on something attractive for him. Being the fact that this night was planned almost a week in advance Jay knew that this would happen (her changing at the last second). After a third ring of the doorbell she finally answered the door wearing a jet black dress cut off at the shoulders revealing an excessive amount of cleavage.
Just the way Jay likes it.
"Come in," DeadRavens said with a seductive smile. Jay returned the smile and walked in.
"I brought you these," Jay said as he handed the daisies to DeadRavens. He knew that daisies are her favorite type of flower so he had meticulously planned to have them for this night.
"Thank you," she said with a smile that beamed brighter than the stars above their heads.
"So what brings ya 'round these parts, stranger?" she said jokingly with a flirtatious giggle.
Jay smiled and responded, "I needed some action so I decided to see if you were around." They both laughed and proceeded to the living room. The table was set for two with plates at their respective ends and white candles lit at the center atop a white cloth. The lights were dim so the candles illuminated the room with a glow that seemed intended on seduction. Jay pulled the bottle of champagne from his jacket pocket and handed it to her.
"I'll go get some glasses," DeadRavens said as she skipped off to her kitchen merrily. Jay took this opportunity to check to see if his gun was loaded. He opened the chamber and indeed it was. Content, Jay slipped the gun into his jean pocket.
"Where can i put my jacket, Red?" Jay shouted across the room.
"Just throw it on the rack next to the door!" she shouted back.
Jay proceeded to place the jacket on the rack. He then walked back over to the table and sat in one of the chairs set at the table. DeadRavens returned with two glasses filled to the rim with the champagne and set one where Jay was and one on the opposite end of the table where she was sitting.
"Food's almost ready. Hope you're hungry," she said with a smile even more seductive than the last as she took the two plates from the table and into the kitchen.
"Hungry for you, my dear," Jay called after her with a smile. She bit her bottom lip but fought her urge to pounce him, at least for now. In his mind, Jay wondered if he could go through with killing her. She was completely oblivious to it but Jay didn't know if he could kill the woman he once was, and in fact still is, in love with. Jay dispelled the thought for now. Maybe he would be able to go through with it on a full stomach.
DeadRavens returned with the plates covered in food. Jay couldn't distinguish what all was it had in it but the smell was enticing enough to make his stomach growl. DeadRavens set the plates of food on the table. Jay picked up his fork and started to insert it into the lovely pot roast she had made but before taking his first bite he put his fork down and stared into DeadRavens eyes. Eventually she lifted her face and caught his glance.
"What?" she said, her face blushing from Jays enticing glare.
"Just admiring your beauty from afar, Red. That's all," Jay said with a devious smile.
He then proceeded to eat. They ate in comfortable silence for about 10 minutes, exchanging suggestive glances every now and again. Periodically Jay would place his hand in his jean pocket, reassuring himself that his gun was still there. After they finished their meal, DeadRavens grabbed the plates and went to place them in the sink. As she returned, she poured herself another glass of champagne. She didn't need it, by now she was tipsy. Jay could tell by her wobbly stance.
"So, what now?" she said as she took another sip from her glass.
"Well, the food was amazing, as usual, my dear." Jay then stood up from the table and hobbled a bit, not realizing he had more to drink than he anticipated. DeadRavens began to walk closer towards him. He held his hand up to stop her.
"Let me go to the little boys room, Red,"Jay said as he walked over to the bathroom. She bit her bottom lip, once again resisting her urge to pounce. He could tell by the lustful glare in her eyes that she wouldn't be able to contain herself much longer. As he entered the bathroom he locked the door and turned on the faucet. He took off his glasses and put them on the side of the sink. Then he threw cold water on his face in an attempt to sober up a little. He exited the bathroom and walked back over to the living room. She wasn't there. Did she know, he wondered to himself. He dispelled the thought as he heard her yell, "Over here, Jay."
It came from her room.
Beads of sweat began to trickle down his forehead. This was it, it had to happen now. He checked his watch. Not yet, he thought. He walked over to her room and saw her laying on her bed, her dress half removed, revealing a bright red bra. Jay walked closer to the bed, his hands in his pockets. She suddenly rose from her bed and pounced him. They began to kiss passionately, their hands caressing each others bodies. Jay bit the side of her neck, making her squirm as he undid her bra. After he had removed it he buried his face in her cleavage and forced her against the wall, hard, causing her to gasp. He placed his hands over hers and kissed her ravenously as she moaned. He then placed his right hand into his pocket and pulled out his .38 snub-nosed pistol. DeadRavens didn't notice a thing, as Jay suspected, too caught up in her own desires. She pulled her mouth from his and stared lovingly into his eyes. Jay began to get nervous but she still didn't notice the gun. He tried to play it off.
"What?" he said with a smile.
"I just wanted to stare into your eyes for a second. I've forgotten how entrancing they can be," she said smiling.
"You know, I've had these feelings trapped inside for a while, Papi. I've been wanting to tell you for so long how I feel."
"Well then shoot, cowgirl," Jay said as he raised his gun to her stomach. His eyes began to swell with tears.
"Jay...," she took a long pause. "Jay," she whispered as she inched closer to Jays lips. "I lo-"
Jay pulled the trigger, shooting DeadRavens in the stomach. Blood splattered on the wall behind her. Jay backed up with his gun still in hand, covered in blood. He watched as she fell sideways to the floor, grasping the wound Jay had left her, eyes filled with tears. She looked up at him, tears freely flowing down her blood-stained face.
"Jay... why..?" she barely managed to utter without blood spewing from her mouth.
"I thought you lo-," Jay cut her off.
"I do, with all my heart," Jay said with tears streaming down his face as freely as DeadRavens. "I need to shed your blood, Red. You have to die tonight. Sorry."
Jay began to walk to a wounded 'dead raven', intent on finishing the job. He tried to lift his gun but his arm buckled of it's own will, as if his subconscious stopped him. He tried to move but for some reason he couldn't. He tried to speak but the words escaped him. He fell to his knees. Tears began falling at an even more alarming rate for Jay. He wasn't accustomed to this feeling. He was
used to being so cold and precise. He was never lamented in his actions in the past. DeadRavens began to slowly rise. Jay noticed but was powerless to stop her. She began to wobble her way towards him. Finally he found the strength to lift his gun. Or so he thought. DeadRavens grabbed Jays right hand and pointed it at her own head.
"If you want to kill me then just do it, already. It's not going to change anything. It's not going to change the fact that I lo-,"
"STOP IT!," Jay screamed as he shoved her away. "This is my kill, not yours! I'm going to do it without your help!" Jay checked his watch. 11:58 pm. He still needed time. He rose from his knees, furious at himself for showing weakness. He pointed the gun at DeadRavens, no longer caring for "rules". His hand shook violently as he tried to take aim through the tears in his eyes.
His watch began beeping. 12:00 am. He prepared to fire as his finger wrapped around the trigger. His arm shook even more violently now with every passing moment. Jay closed his eyes. He then dropped his gun, abandoned his quest to shoot her. He calmly walked over to her. He knelt beside his wounded ex-lover and held her in his arms, staring deep into her eyes.
"I knew you couldn't do it, Jay," she said with a faint smile. Jay smiled back. His eyes glowed with sheer joy. Then, in an instant, they filled with pure rage as he grabbed his army knife from the inside of his sock and stabbed her violently in her neck. He repeatedly forced the blade into her without remorse, covering himself in a crimson mask with the blood from the open wound. He rose, placed his knife back inside of his sock and calmly walked over to where he dropped his gun. He could hear her gagging on her own blood. Jay stopped for a second and smiled while licking the blood from his lips. He picked up the gun and casually walked over to DeadRavens. He knelt down towards her as he pointed the gun at her head, as he held her in his arms once again, for the last time.
"The scythe swipes for thee, my love," he whispered as he pulled the trigger. Chunks of skull splattered across the wall behind them. Her eyes rolled to the back of what was left of her head. Jay released the corpse from his arms and let it hit the floor with a violent thud. He aimed at her chest and fired two more shots.
"Now your heart will always be mine, amor. No one can take it away now," he said with a smile. He dug in his pocket and pulled out a photo he had kept of her. It was from the beach a few years ago. He kissed it and tossed it on the corpse of his fallen lover.
He lit a cigarette and walked away into the night.

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Seventh Level of Hell! Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Take the Dante's Inferno Test
Pieces by Mors (titled by me)
Walking down a narrow path,
I find myself alone,
All decisions mine to make
And all mistakes my own.
But how do I know which turn to take
Down the forking pathways?
How do I know that they won't
Lead to still worse days?
The problem is my heart's in the past
While my mind is looking ahead.
I can't turn back. I can't move forward.
I've reached an end that's dead.
