Hi Guys,

  Was curious.  As we are trying to wrap up the aesthetics on the new site, we are looking at the profile section.  Before i go one way or the other on the profiles, i wanted to see, how important is customizing your profile page.  Not the content on your profile, but the actual backgrounds and colors?  I looked at the last 16 people that logged in and saw that the majority of those users have their profiles customized with myspace themes.  But i wanted to get an overview of how important you see that feature of the site.

We have started the work on the video blog component.  We are working with a certain company to obtain the license rights to modify but we have a base in the works.  

 

This video blog will allow a user to click on video blog, they will be presented with a small flash player that will automatically attempt to connect to your webcam.  You will be able to see your self and then click record.  You then record your blog and can then preview.  If you are good with it, click save and it uploads to the server.  

 

It will then be added to the main video blog as well as the video blog profile tab for that user.  

 

Just a heads up.  No one is paying attention to me but oh well :)

Hey Everyone, i know, i am supposed to be slammed and not able to think much about the site, but I keep thinking of stuff. Just wanted to get an idea on what everyone thought about video blogs in addition to the current blogs.

I know a few of you have cameras, i know for a fact some of you have them on your laptops.

Now, here is the question.... We can do this pretty easily, it would be utilizing YouTube for the video stuff. Not like embedding clips in your profiles, but just for the streaming side of it. With that comes the constraint that the videos would be available to any one on youtube that hit the gothopia channel.

So.... 2 questions.

1. would any of you video blog if it was available? All you would have to do is record a video using your web cam and upload.

2. if you video blog, would you have issues if its on youtube?

I have been kicking around an idea for a graphic, maybe for some schwag.  I was thinking of taking the myspace logo and making a parody of it.  make it say "your space" but look like my space.  and put on a shirt

Ok Guys,

couple quick updates for you.  

 

1.  Gothopia SCHWAG BITCHES!!!! - Yes, we are trying to get a schwag store together.  all sorts of stuff.  This leads to number

2.  The Logo / Design - We are officially asking you creative types out there to help come up with a new gothopia logo.  I have seen a handful of graphic created by different people.  But we want to get a standard one.  something that can be put on our schwag.  Used in graphics/banners all kinds of shit.  This leads to item 3.  

3.   New Design - Yes, i said new design.  We have the new design mostly finished.  Doing some tweaks.  I feel it will really help show this site has not gone stale.  It will help keep the new visitors and will hopefully be a pleasant change for you older members :)  With the new logo, we can integrate it into the new design.  We will make sure the RB graphic stays until we have our proper memorial section built.  So the RB graphic will not be going away.

4.  The Game - Not sure if any of you are into any sort of multiperson roll playing games, but we are currently working on a game for gothopia.  We have the base game engine built based off some code someone wrote awhile back.  We are adding on to it and making it integrated into gothopia.  In that, you will be able to build up your own little area of the virtual world.  Join packs, attack other packs, buy and sell your goods in the market.  In short, we are creating a little world.

Will it be like WOW?  If only i had that kind of time to learn 3d game programming :)  

Now, if you are looking to potentially see how it might work, i have located a gentleman that has written a game based on the same engine.  If you would like to get a jump start on knowing how to play, you can visit him at

Hey Guys,

   Destiny brought something up about the RB graphic on the home page.  I wanted to let everyone know that we did not intentially take that down.  The graphic was loading off the venradio.com site and with the parting of ways that graphic isn't accessible off their url any more.  I am going to reach out to Loki and Syd7 to see if they would send that graphic over to me so I can get it put back up.
