Where will we be?

America is at the brink of collapse. I hate to be such a pessimistic and such an I-Told-You-So person, but it's true. The weakening U.S. Dollar, the declining economy, and the fading faith in America are contributing factors in the fall of this country from Super Powerdom. And where will we be?

Recently, in Davos, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum had a meeting. The main issue? "What can America do to recover, and what's out back-up if America falls?" You see, the world is a business. Super Powers are the main money-maker for the world economy. Up until recent times, America has never been questioned in its place as the Super Power.  And I'll be the first to say that America was a Super Power. The issue is... America was a Super Power.

The bad decisions that have been made in recent years have caused the world's faith in America to drop. Little by little, America increased its world-wide debt. When I said that Super Powers are money-makers, here is my explanation. When you're a Super Power, that means you have all the resources to back up any money you "borrow" from the world. America no longer has the resources. It's a little funny, Japan "owns" a lot of America now. Because America uses its trade as collateral for borrowing money. Why are American-made businesses failing, while Japanese-made businesses proper? That's why.

The elections hold some hopes for the WEF, they hope that someone can pull America out of the void and bring it back as a Super Power. But if America can't rise, do you think the WEF are willing to restore it? No. They're looking at China for its growing Industrial and Manufacturing power; India, for the sheer man-power, and; Russia, because Russia holds the rights to the largest resource deposits than any other country. If America falls, we'll see the rise of another Super Power. My bet is on China. China has the combination of resources, man-power and brain-power. (Engineers in China, for example, outnumber US Engineers by a 3-to-1 ratio.)

America can't fend for itself anymore. They tell us not to worry, but there is, in fact, a very big thing to worry about. American businesses are outsourcing most manufacturing jobs to other countries because they don't have to pay as much, leaving the Average Joe with his hands in his pockets. What do they say? With Manufacturing being outsourced or automated, it opens more jobs in a "Robot Aide" sort of position. The problem? It pays less than the Manufacturing jobs that got outsourced, and will be replaced by automation again.

I once told Mors, that there are three types of leaders, each leading a country or empire if you would, into the three different stages of "being". The first is the Creator Leader, he creates empires; second is the Maintenance Leader, he maintains and expands empires; last is the Destroyer Leader, he destroys (his own) empire... accidentally or on purpose... which then leaves room for the cycle to start over.

Empires have shorter and shorter life spans. To be brief, you had the Egyptians at tens of thousands of years; the Romans with thousands; the Russian with hundreds; and you have America... with barely even two hundred. It's already at the brink of collapse.

So I ask again--when America collapses, where will we be?

We will be in poverty, attempting to get back to our former glory... And we will fail.

I told you this yesterday, but I think the reason why empires are having shorter and shorter lives is the amount of power being given to the people. The empires with longer lives had more authoritarian governments. There was no one to rise up against a bad leader, since the common man was usually worst off and it was widely accepted that the common man had little to no say in government. However, as the common man got more rights and greater power in his government, he began to demand that anything he didn't like get thrown out. The problem is, men can never seem to agree on one set way of doing things for long.

With the old authoritarian governments, it didn't matter if someone didn't agree with the leader. They knew they couldn't do anything to change anything... Now, with the growing prosperity of representative governments, it seems that people all around the world have the idea that their governments owe them more than what they're getting, and are taking action to get what they believe their government owe them. They rebel... And by the time any order is restored to the area, any semblance of an empire is gone.

Another reason is the overlooking of seemingly minor details. I not sure what it is for America, but there always is something... Rome divided itself, taking it's invincibility for granted. Imperial Russia seemed to have forgotten their poor. (Though I do not pretend to be an expert on Russia.) The Empires of the New World misjudged the strangers they had met... You say that our detail is our declining economy.

If that is true, if our flaw is our economy, we can only hope and pray that we can fix it before it is too late...

Where will we be, indeed.

There are a few answers to this question, but I suppose it depends upon us. Firstly, will we allow America to crumble? I've wondered for years whether anyone would stand up and stop the decline. I've argued with those who refuse to see the possibility-- teachers, friends, family. "America will fall. It's not a matter of 'if', but 'when.'" "How can you say that? How can you know?" "All empires fall. Rome, Russia. And one day, we will. It won't be due to someone else attacking us, not in the end. It's internal. Some flaw we'll ignore until it's too late."

And look. The time approaches. Approaches. Is it too late now? They've had a meeting about our decline? Well, I can only hope that there is a solution. You know what a deep love I have for Empires, my Lord. Looking back on history, America had such great potential. Surely something remains, some small piece of that which a Creator can build up again.

If someone would step forward, if our next leader-- or one of them, for not all leaders are those elected through government, but those chosen directly from the people-- were capable of changing our already sealed fate... It would take quite the man or woman, though. And there are so many flaws.

Education. I've always believed that this is the root of the people. An educated populous creates doctors, economists, scientists, more educators, artists... Higher education means a higher standard of life. A higher standard of life... well, we all know that is desirable.

It's one of my pet theories. You know this. If we change the education system to utilize the learning power of the youth and emphasize higher education, then we are creating a more competent generation. At the moment, it seems like we all live for ourselves and only ourselves. What we need to teach is that helping one another truly is helping ourselves. If the older ones-- baby boomers-- would put some thought into it, they'd realise that if they were selfless enough to ask for more given to education rather than wars that just seem impressive, they'd be getting doctors whose degrees they could trust.

I'm going off on a tangent and I know it. Yeah.

But I fear that we are allowing this decline. It's our responsibility to help further the country that's given us our freedom. And most of us just sit back and watch.

The world may not need the US, may have its replacement in line. But we do. Many of us have nowhere else to go.
