(It's been a LONG time since I've written any poetry and after proof-reading this bad boy, I can say with NO EGO that is truly is one of my better pieces of work. Show love if you got it but more importantly, enjoy; they'll be plenty more to come!)
Led Astray
All that's left to do is pray For the ones who have been led astray For those who fell and lost their way In the long nights and never-ending days
I mourn for those who still shed tears The pain of loss, the wasted years Betrayed by those who we reveer And stricken down by our worst fear
We loathe the ones who've caused us pain The scars have driven us insane And so we take your name in vain And then we turn away in shame
For those who try to bury sins They fight war they will not win Their demons feasting from within They become vessels torn limb from limb
For those who haven't the strenght to fight Afraid to make it through the night The answer lies beyond their sight Two wrongs will never make a right
And so we walk this path alone For our mistakes we must atone Our lives and misery are sewn Together trekking the unknown
For we are blind now; such is fate Although this truth may irritate The sad part is, there's no escape But do not let hope dissipate
For someday soon we'll find the peace We need before we can decease The key that unlocks this sweet release Lies within; for wonders never cease...
